A Retort Pouch is a plastic and metal foil lightweight food box. Packs used for military MRE, are extremely robust. This is mainly used for fresh product packaging.
Retort
Pouche Retort makes of a lightweight laminate constructed of metal resin. Packs may be cooked at high temperatures to sterilize the interior material without destroying the packaging. Retort bags are usually used for ready to use food packings, such as immediate pasta, hiking or field rations. It is often used in the processing of fish or fruit for energy use.
